The name Lansknecht means "servant of the lands". The Landsknecht were mercenairies who fought for the highest bidders.They also fought in Germany , Austria , Spain and the Balkans. They were famous for thier outrageous multicoloured costumes. They fought in pike blocks, their main weapon was the 18ft pike.
